A Further Note About Truffles

Truffles in general should not be cooked, but should rather be added to food that has already been cooked. Their flavor, while strong, is delicate and doesn't stand up well to heat, although there are exceptions.

If you're looking for a simple but delicious way to enjoy truffles, scramble some eggs. Add a little cheese to them. Just before serving, sprinkle them with shaved truffle.
Add toast and hot coffee and you'll begin to understand what all the fuss is about.
