Description

BLiS has teamed with Yamato Soy, one of the best soy sauce producers with over a century of brewing experience, to produce this amazing bourbon-maple barrel aged soy sauce. This non-GMO soy sauce is aged in Kanazawa, Japan in the time-honored Japanese tradition for one year, then aged and smoked in the BLiS tradition with twenty-year-old maple-cured bourbon barrels. The result is unparalleled flavor with distinctive notes of smokey cocoa, sweet spice and oak with a luxurious umami finish.

Grilled Tuna Steaks with Citrus-Soy Sauce
East meets West on the barbecue grill!

This savory citrus-soy sauce is a perfect complement to the rich flavor and meaty texture of fresh tuna steaks that have been seared to medium-rare on a hot grill.

With the thick tuna steaks cooking for just a single minute on each side, this entire dish takes less than 20 minutes to prepare, sauce included.

Fiddlehead Salad Asian Style
This is a strongly flavored, robust, Fiddlehead fern salad. It goes wonderfully with bland dishes such as roast chicken or other poultry. But it also stands up well to something like a barbecue. Fast and easy to make.

Sausage-Stuffed Tofu with Smoked Soy Sauce
To fans of authentic Asian cuisine, the flavors & textures of this dish will feel as comfortable and familiar as an old friend. A steamed dish might not seem like summer food, but the preparation is quite easy and cooking time is only about 20 minutes. It won’t heat up the kitchen and can be enjoyed immediately while hot or later, at room temperature. Our version of stuffed tofu, a venerable classic of many Asian cuisines, uses sausage made from ground turkey or chicken instead of the usual pork, making it lighter, far less filling and, since it’s lower in fat, healthier. After all, as Confucius said, “He that takes medicine and neglects diet, wastes the skills of the physician.” How can we argue with that?

Wild Mushroom Potstickers
Some prefer their wontons simmered to a delicate softness in soup while others like the crisp, crackly crunch of fried wontons. Why compromise when you can have it both ways? Actually, potstickers do have a unique texture all their own, a little bit chewy (in a good, satisfying way) with a crisp-fried bottom. The tangy dipping sauce makes a good thing even better.
