Description

BLiS has teamed with Yamato Soy, one of the best soy sauce producers with over a century of brewing experience, to produce this amazing bourbon-maple barrel aged soy sauce. This non-GMO soy sauce is aged in Kanazawa, Japan in the time-honored Japanese tradition for one year, then aged for another year in BLiS' twenty-year-old maple-cured bourbon barrels. The result is unparalleled flavor with distinctive notes of chocolate, cocoa, vanilla, spice, and oak with a luxurious umami finish.

Grilled Tuna Steaks with Citrus-Soy Sauce
East meets West on the barbecue grill!

This savory citrus-soy sauce is a perfect complement to the rich flavor and meaty texture of fresh tuna steaks that have been seared to medium-rare on a hot grill.

With the thick tuna steaks cooking for just a single minute on each side, this entire dish takes less than 20 minutes to prepare, sauce included.

Black Garlic Shu Mai with Smoked Soy Dipping Sauce
The ingredients in shu mai can vary considerably. We wanted to experiment with an intriguing ingredient that we’ve been enjoying lately: black garlic. We were quite pleased with the results. The complex flavor of black garlic is quite subtle, but it never gets lost in the crowd. While it’s not assertive in flavor, black garlic holds its own quite well against the mixture of traditional Asian seasonings. Sweeter and much milder than “regular” garlic, black garlic doesn’t have the same sharp bite and won’t linger on your breath the way fresh garlic can.

Country-style Pork Ribs with Chipotle-Cherry Barbecue Sauce
Smokey. Spicy. Sweet. Fruity. Flavorful. Chipotle-cherry barbecue sauce blends a rainbow of rich, earthy flavors into one mouthwatering, sweat-inducing, tastebud-tingling package. Perhaps you’ve bought cherry or other fruit-based barbecue sauces before, maybe even liked them. This homemade version blasts them all out of the water. It’s not difficult to make, either. It does take a little bit of work, but it’s worth every bit of it.

Shishito Pepper Tempura
This is one of our all-time favorite ways to prepare tasty little shishito peppers. These crisp tempura-fried nuggets of goodness are at their best when they’re just out of the oil. Eat them as soon as they’re cool enough to pop into you mouth. The Ponzu dipping sauce is very easy to make.
