Habanero chiles are the hottest!
Behind the heat is a fruity flavor that makes these chiles a wonderful way to spark up any dish. Habanero means "Havana-like" which may be a reference to its origins. Speculation suggests the Habanero originated in South America and made its way into the Caribbean and Central America via Colombia.
Habaneros are very, very hot so use them sparingly. On the heat scale the Habanero is a 10 - so make sure to use rubber gloves. Add a little to recipes for fresh salsa, sauces, chili, and anywhere else you want to start a 4-alarm fire!
