Why is it that store-bought cherries never taste as good as the ones you picked when you were a kid?
Most store-bought cherries are picked before they are fully ripe. Why? Because slightly underripe fruit is easier to ship.
Jutting out into northern Lake Michigan, the long, narrow Old Mission Peninsula enjoys unique growing conditions which are perfect for producing the most delicious cherries in the world. The surrounding lakes and air currents provide an unusually mild microclimate with cool springs, dry summers and long, warm falls. All of these factors together provide the perfect environment for tree-ripening the best tasting cherries you'll ever try.
Earthy Delights' fresh-picked cherries come from Michigan's Cherry Capital, arriving at our warehouse just hours after being picked. This allows us to buy only perfectly ripe cherries that are firmer, darker and more flavorful than cheap commodity cherries.
All of our fresh Michigan cherries are picked with stems on and are cooled, but not washed. All of this extends the shelf life of the cherries - but never at the expense of flavor.
Try big, juicy, sweet, tree-ripened Michigan Cherries... the way they're meant to be eaten
