Western Blonde Morels from the Pacific Northwest are often the first morels to appear each spring.
Our Western blonde morels consist of mixed blondes & greys (as pictured above). Western blonde morels are slightly drier in texture than Midwestern blonde morels, but are equally esteemed by many mushroom lovers. Western Blonde morels vary in color from a rich tan to pale golden yellow and are found in both conifer and hardwood forests.
Blonde Morels (morchella esculenta), also known as sponge mushrooms, yellow morels, white morels etc, possess a honeycombed, hollow, cone-shaped cap ranging in size from 2 to 4 inches high (and often much larger) and are reknowned for their exceptional flavor and unusual texture.
Morels are highly perishable and must be handled with care. Keep them cool and dry, with a little ventilation - ideally, in the refrigerator in a loosely covered mushroom box or paper bag. Never store refrigerated in a sealed plastic bag!
Please remember: supplies of wild mushrooms are frequently limited.
While we'll do our best to honor requested delivery dates, as always, morels are available on a first come, first serve basis.
