Israeli Couscous is not like regular couscous, but is a uniquely made Mediterranean toasted pasta specialty, produced in Israel. Israeli Couscous is made from hard wheat and water, just like regular pasta. But here's the difference: instead of being dried, Israeli Couscous is toasted in an open flame oven, giving it a rich, nutty flavor. The resulting small round pasta readily absorbs flavors while remaining pleasantly firm in texture. Sauces & seasonings easily cling to the surface of each pearl-shaped piece.

 

Israeli Couscous makes a perfect side dish with any entree, whether meat, poultry, seafood or vegetable. It's also delicious mixed with rice, other pastas, grains & beans. Try it as a main course with your favorite pasta sauce and in warm or cold pasta salads.
