Meatballs Stornante
Ingredients:
½ lb ground pork
½ lb ground sirloin or beef chuck
2 large eggs
1 tbsp grated Italian cheese
¾ cup dried bread crumbs
2 tsp crushed red chile peppers
1½ tbsp cut oregano
1 tsp Sea salt
3 cloves minced garlic
2 cloves chopped garlic
3 tbs extra virgin olive oil
Preparation:
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients and mix well using a potato masher or hands, reserving additional (2) cloves of chopped garlic and olive oil.
Shape meatballs to desired shape and set aside.
In a large skillet heat olive oil to medium-high heat, adding remaining chopped garlic and a pinch of salt.
Add meatballs and cook until brown on all sides (approximately 4 min per side).
Add cooked meatball to your favorite spaghetti sauce and simmer for 20 minutes. Makes about 15 meatballs.
