The Porterhouse is a steak cut from the point where the tenderloin and top loin meet. It's very similar to the popular T-Bone steak (both contain a T-shaped bone), but the porterhouse is usually thicker with more of the tenderloin relative to the loin portion.
The Porterhouse can be cooked in practically any way with excellent results. While ideal for grilling, it can also be broiled, sauteéd or pan-fried. The Porterhouse is best when cooked to no more than medium.
