Pre-ordering Spring Wild Harvest Specialties
(Morel mushrooms, Ramps/Wild Leeks & Fiddlehead Ferns)

Our popular Spring Wild Harvest specialties include the beloved morel mushroom, ramps (wild leeks) and fiddlehead ferns. Each of these wild delicacies are harvested as they come into their own brief, individual seasons.

The growing seasons of wild mushrooms and plants cannot be rushed - they are on Mother Nature's schedule, not man's.

We cannot always guarantee delivery by a specific date.
Wild produce is harvested and shipped as they become available - often in very limited amounts. Pre-orders will be processed & shipped in the order they were received and while we do our best to honor special delivery requests, you must understand that it is not always possible for us to do so.

Other products ordered at the same time as your wild harvest items:
Any other items ordered at the same time as pre-order items will be shipped at the same time, unless we receive specific instructions otherwise (this will probably require a separate shipping charge).

When your order is ready to be shipped:
We will call or email you to confirm shipping and delivery dates before sending your package. We will not ship your order until we have contacted you and you have replied to confirm a delivery date.

If you haven't heard from us and would like an update on the status of your order, we encourage you to call us for more information or to schedule your delivery.

Estimated Harvest Dates

Morel Mushrooms

Morels are among the most highly prized of all the Wild Harvest Mushrooms. The reason is plain. Their taste is superb!

Dark Morel Mushrooms (Morchella conica) are expected to begin shipping sometime in mid-to-late April. Their season usually runs until early-to-mid June.

Blonde Morel Mushrooms (Morchella esculenta), considered by many to be the choicest of morels, usually appear in early May. They are often only available for a few short weeks. The season is shorter, the supply smaller, and the demand is higher for these prized mushrooms.

Fiddlehead Ferns
Fiddleheads (Matteuccia struthiopteris) typically appear in late April or early May. Although the word "fiddlehead" could refer to any fern shoots, we sell only the ostrich fern, considered the choicest of them all.

Ramps (Wild Leeks)
Ramps and Wild Leeks are the same plant, a type of wild-growing onion generally presented fresh with the green leaves attached to the small white bulb.

Ramps and Wild Leeks are distinguished primarily by growing in different regions. Where found in the Appalachian range, they are known as Ramps. Harvest in this region typically begins around late March or early April. A few weeks later they are harvested in the Great Lakes region where they are called Wild Leeks.

The "Grand Trio of Spring"
(One pound each of Morels, Ramps & Fiddleheads)

The seasons of morels, fiddleheads and ramps typically coincide during the month of May. Once all three items are available for shipment at the same time, we will call or email to confirm shipping and delivery dates before sending your package.

If you wish to have morels, fiddleheads or ramps arrive separately as they come into season, you must order them separately. Please keep in mind that each separate order will necessitate its own shipping fee.
