Thai Grilled Oysters
This is an easy, unusual, and delicious appetizer. The following recipe for oyster grilling sauce comes from the Glidden Point Oyster Sea Farm in Maine.
To prepare the sauce, simply mix all the ingredients in a non-reactive bowl and allow to stand for about 20 minutes.
To prepare the oysters, simply shuck them, detach them from the shell without removing them, and be sure that they're "resting" in the deep end of the shell cup.
Place the oysters in their shells directly on a hot barbecue grill. Top each oyster with about one teaspoon of sauce or marinade according to your preference.
Grill until hot and bubbly. Serve immediately!
