Saffron is the most precious spice in the world.


True saffron is produced only by the saffron crocus and consists of the delicate, thread-like stigma of the flower.  Each blossom produces only three stigmas, which must be gathered by hand. After harvesting & drying, the stigmas achieve their vivid bright orange-red color. This uniform color is typical of only the highest quality saffron, such as “The Gathering of Saffron”. Select Grade Spanish saffron is the highest grade saffron, far superior to saffron produced in other regions.
