Combine bread crumbs and wine in a small bowl and set aside.
Combine the beans, almonds, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, ground red pepper, and salt in a food processor or blender. Process or blend until the mixture is almost smooth.
Add the bread crumb mixture and process or blend until smooth. Stir in snipped oregano or basil.
Cover and refrigerate for 3 to 24 hours so the flavors can blend.
