Clean and trim the lettuce and ramps. Chop together and toss to mix.
Fry the bacon and remove from the pan. Crumble over the lettuce and the ramps.
Heat the bacon drippings to sizzling hot and pour over the lettuce and ramps. Toss well and serve immediately.
Note: some people like to add vinegar and sugar to the bacon drippings, which gives the salad a "sweet and sour" flavor.
